Malgorzata Ciacek founded Ciacek Gallery in 2024 with the goal to discover the heritage of the Polish artists whose works may be sporadically found in museum collections but to this day remain little known to a wider audience. Through collaboration with curators and a preparation of a dedicated catalogue for each exhibition, the gallery has a mission similar to that of public institutions, to popularise knowledge of Polish art in domestically and abroad. Ciacek’s main area of interest is art from the 20th century, from the interwar avant-garde (Witkacy, Doskowski, Hiller), to the 1990s (Zakrzewski, Sadley).

Having completed her MA at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, Małgorzata Ciacek (born in 1993), came back to Warsaw (her hometown) and started working with Michał Olszewski. After 5 years of fruitful cooperation, at the age of 29, she became the gallery’s co-owner.

Olszewski|Ciacek’s greatest achievement was being the first Polish art gallery to exhibit at TEFAF Maastricht, in 2024. Ciacek oversaw and managed the entirety of the project, including writing the application, selection of artworks, and performing their the presentation. The Gallery was awarded with J. P. Morgan Private Bank prize for the best exhibition in the highly competitive TEFAT Showcase section.

After two years of being a coowner, she decided to open her own gallery. Ciacek Gallery’s first solo venture was an exhibition of Wojciech Sadley’s show titled: “Anti-textiles. Blood 1960-1973” at the Flashback Art Fair 2024 in Turin. Once again, it was the first instance of a Polish art gallery to exhibit at this art fair.

Being an extension of founder’s personality, the core values of Ciacek Gallery are friendship, honesty, vision with a healthy amount of delusion.
